Macbeth was given two truths, two truths that hooked him in his favour, and now, he is toying with his third prophecy. The speech touches on his vaulting ambition to become and remain King of Scotland. In order to eventually do so, Macbeth realizes the ambition requires him to be evil, because he must kill King Duncan in hopes of ever taking the throne for himself. The speech lets us know that when the two truths came true, he takes his fate into his own hands, allowing his ambition and certainty and that of his wife to overcome his better judgement. We know that Macbeth is expressed in the novel as a fierce hero, whose fame on the battlefield wins him great honor of the king, this honor is what leads him to great bravery in attempts to overthrow
