A lot of people from other countries would consider Americans be overtly patriotic in most aspects. Most American citizens are as a whole are very proud to be considered American and are thankful that they get to live in the “land of the free and the home of the brave”. For example, the Star-Spangled Banner is played before sporting events, but in Germany this is not the case. A foreign exchange student by the name of Oliver explained that Germans as a whole are not very patriotic and he does not hear Germany’s national anthem very often. He hears it so seldom that he does not know the words, while in American, most everyone knows the words of the Star-Spangled Banner by heart. No citation
