Batman! Superman! Spiderman! When I was younger, these were the classic superheros. They could save the world and make it a better place, that is what a hero is. How about a twisted hero? We have all gone through times when we have done something wrong and regret it, but does it have to affect us in the long run? That is what a twisted hero is, a person who has potential but has a poor self image. A twisted hero is someone who has gone through adversity and helps apply those experiences into their later life. Han experiences his friends still obsessed with Om at the end of the book. In the story it states, "Om Sokdae is really something! I saw him going by, in the backseat of a luxury car;he was sitting back in total comfort [...] Our Sokdae couldn't be that small-time. If this was the best Sokdae could do in terms of vulgar success, how could I explain my life with its thick shadow of failure.(Munyol 117)" Ever since Han was young, he saw that the boys, in his class, praised Om for everything. Han realizes his misdeeds when Om got caught for cheating. Han knew that Om never did any harm directly to him, resulting in a misconception. With this in mind, Robert Downey Jr. is a famous actor, he has been in Iron Man, The Avengers and Sherlock Holmes. Since he was eight, he dealt with drug abuse. Downey was arrested many times for being "under the influence". Downey still kept acting, but he wasn't at his full potential. Downey didn't turn his act around until late 2000's when he realized he was going in the wrong direction. This relates to Han because at the beginning of the book, Han was immature and always tried to be right. Later in the story, he realizes that he was wasting his time on Om. Han becomes mature in realizing what he has done
