As I continued to whisper during conversations everyone still made weird and confused faces, but I also noticed that it caused them to also respond by whispering. In addition they did not realize that they were doing it. Finally, they started to question me whether I was sick and had a sore throat. They would also try to guess the reason for me whispering. My close friend started to become concerned on why I was whispering. I denied all of their predictions and just told my friend was nothing to worry about, so she after that she did not take me serious.
As I was violating the normal tone of voice in the situation I was in, I felt kind of outcasted. I felt that way because everyone would have conversations and when I started a conversation with them they would look at me weird. When I was violating the norm, I did not really know what to expect on how people would react. It was really difficult trying to keep a straight face when whispering especially when I noticed that people whispered back to me I thought it was pretty funny. Something I learned about this norm is the way people form what is an accepted and not accepted tone of voice regarding the situation. I found it very interesting the reactions I got especially how some people would respond back
