It has been said that President Reagan has been one of the best presidents of this country. “He is seen by a majority as likeable, hardworking, a strong leader who is well informed on domestic issues and a president who makes his own decisions and sas sound economic ideas” (Document A). Ronald Reagan was one of a few presidents to really benefit the American economy as soon as he entered office. Ronald Reagan started his term in January of 1981 which he began his legacy. When Reagan was elected into the White House, he gave his first inaugural speech. And in that speech he promised America that he will try his best to make sure he puts America first again. Over the past few decades America went through a rough patch. Ever since World War II, America suffered through the grief of the Holocaust and the American soldiers who lost their lives in war. Then when JFK was president, America seemed to be climbing uphill again. But when JFK got assassinated, America went back to square one. Even after all of that, the Vietnam War happened and America went even more downhill because the government didn’t handle the situation well. It wasn’t until President Reagan who brought a hope that America can be number one again. By doing that, he immediately said that the government needs to stop invading people’s lives and take a step back. Something known as Federalism was taking over the American people that everyone, including the state officials, was losing hope for the American government. The government was over-controlling and made it seem like it was their way or no way. Everything that the government did was uncreative and very serious.
