The definition of wealth is, “A great quantity of money and people full of valuable possessions.” Wealth is power, with power you can get what you want. Wealthy people want jewels, dresses, and beauty because with these they can act and look rich. Madame Loisel thinks she needs all of these features because she wants to be rich and powerful.
