President Franklin Roosevelt called December 7, 1941, "a date which will live in infamy." On December 7, 1941 Japanese attacked pearl harbor with planes in Hawaii territory bombing the united states naval base that is in pearl harbor, this attacks bombing nearly killed more than 2,300 Americans, in the process destroying the American battle ship U.S.S. over 2,335 military personnel were killed this included 2,008 navy personnel, 109 marines, and 218 army, and 68 civilians. The total of deaths was 2,403. These deaths occurred that day throughout a month from the injuries some had. 18 ships and 5 battle ships were all sunken or destroyed by japanese plane fighters that day. All the Americans killed/wounded during the attack were not in a fighting/ being aggressive towards anyone mood, they were not prepared to go to battle or to protect their country at that given moment, given the fact there was no state of war when the attack occurred at that time giving no warning ahead.
