Who was the first emperor?
The first emperor was a man called Ying Zheng. He was born in 259 BCE and died September 10th 210 BCE, he had three children and one sibling. He was the ruler of the Qin Dynasty and was the one who ended the warring state period by completing his invasions on the other states in china. He gave himself the title of Shihangdi. In modern day china they call him Qin shihangdi which means “First Emperor of Qin”. He was the founder of the Chinese imperial system and writing, laws, coinage, weights and measures. He also imposed harsh laws and cruel punishment for those who did not follow his orders.

The Great Wall of China is one of the many things that Qin did. The Reason he made this wall was to stop raiding nomads from coming into the dynasty. He ordered many men to link the gap between the two other bits of the wall already made by other states. One of the other things he did was make the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. These were found inside the tomb of Qin shihangdi by his coffin. These statues represented Qin shihangdi’s army and served two purposes, as funeral decoration and to protect Qin Shihangdi in his afterlife. Both of these are wonders of china and both served a purpose.
How did he improve china?
Qin Shihangdi improved china by making changes in currency and punished people equally. Changing the currency made trading a lot easier, they made the money all the money basic so that it was easier to understand and easier to use. The other way he changed china was he punishe people equally, if a poor, disabled person did something wrong he would get no different punishment to the rich or person without a disability, it would be the same with men and women the punishment would be no different.
