Fahrenheit 451: Titles With Meaning Like most books, Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradbury is divided into sections, each labeled with a title. Fahrenheit 451 has three sections; “The Hearth and the Salamander”, “The Sand and the Sieve”, and “Burning Bright”. Each chapters’ title has a specific, deeper meaning conveyed throughout the text. The first section of the book is titled “The Hearth and the Salamander”. The hearth and the salamander represent re-growth and rebuilding. Salamanders are known for being able to re-grow their tails if they are to fall off; much like salamanders, the fire station and fire men were able to get everything together and re-form after the civil war.
