Literary Analysis in Animal Farm
What if animals tried to takeover and run our society? In the novella Animal Farm by: George Orwell, the author based the animals off the communists in the war of 1918. The animals were rebelling from “Mr.Jones” there farm owner who had ran the Manor Farm. In the novel the farm animals wanted freedom and were tired of humans controlling their lives. The animals went into a rebellion and won a significant “battle of the cowshed” which had led into their rebellion. The situation in animal farm is the animals trying to take over their caretaker Jones. It all started when Old Major the pig made a proclamation the run the Manor Farm. All the animals were in an agreement that they were tired of living under human rights. One night Mr. Jones came back from the bar and that is when the animals started their rebellion. The animals attacked and raided Mr. Jones and the Manor Farm. Then came the establishment of rules, the pigs automatically took charge. They had devised a plan to run manor farm, the pigs learned to read and write. They formed the commandments, that all the animals had to follow. The animals talk as if they were humans. The pigs are the soviet leaders. The mighty cart horse Boxer the an is the extremely loyal but ignorant leader, that sacrifices his life to be loyal to the leaders. Boxer voiced his general feeling by saying “If comrade Napoleon says it, it must be right”... he adopted “Napoleon is always right” (56) with his personal motto “I will work harder.” The sheep are the diehard followers that are some what “clueless” to what is going on around them.
