White Person Privilege
1. I have the privilege of having a positive relationship with the police (Greenberg, 2015).
2. I am able to find children’s books that largely represent my race (Greenberg,2015).
3. Social media is aimed towards me.
4. I am not categorized with the violent stereotypes of my race.
5. My wage is not lower because of my race (Weiss, 2016).
6. People do not make assumptions about how intelligent I am based off my race (Weiss,2016).
7. A majority of products are manufactured with me in mind.
8. I am able to do or say something as an individual, rather than have it reflect members of my race (Domingo, 2014).
9. I do not have to worry about being watched in a store because of my skin color (Blackman, 2013).
10. I am able to receive financial, legal and medical aid without my race hindering me (Domingo, 2014).
Able-bodied Privilege
1. I am able to do daily tasks without putting any thought into achieving them.
2. I can participate in sports easily (Ridgway, 2013).
3. I can use public transportation smoothly.
4. People will not get annoyed at me for taking a long time in line (Ridgway,2013).

10. If I am fired, not given a raise, or not hired, I do not have to assume it was because I did not appear physically competent. Ultimately, after completing these four areas of privilege for my paper, I realized how privileged I am. I had not put much thought into these privileges before, they were just a part of my life that I did not have to strive for to obtain. As a future social worker, I want to care about the privileges I have. If I am not aware of everything that I am so privileged to have in my life, I will not use them. I need to be in touch with my privileges to speak up about them. I will use my privilege in positive ways by sharing with others around me that they also have some of the same privileges I have. Other people should also become aware of their privileges. Also, since I am able to have privileges other people may not have the ability to obtain, I will make sure that the people affected negatively by these privileges do not feel pitied, looked down on, or discriminated in any way by myself or others around me. There are people out there who do not recognize themselves as privileged, they deserve to know about the freedom they
