What was the “culture of slavery?” How did slaves attempt to define their own culture? Culture of slavery was basically just slaves figuring out how to make their own kind of culture. Some African culture was put into the slaves culture. The slaves all came from different parts of Africa so they were considered Blended. Slaves had their own type of music, it consisted of a very heavy rhythm. Some instruments they used was the drums and banjo; which was an African instrument. In New Orleans, the slaves had off on sundays because it was a religious area. What were the strengths of the North? The weaknesses? What advantages did the Confederacy have? Weaknesses? The North and Confederacy both had their strengths and weaknesses during the Civil War. The North had a huge navy and their trading ships were quick. The Norths rail lines were to transport food and troops. They had multiple factories to produce weapons and war supplies as well. Their population volunteered in the army and to work for their factories. The norths weaknesses were that they did not have many trained soldiers, they had to travel to places they did not know, it was a very far distance to supply the troops and send more troops. The Confederacy had their advantages and disadvantages as well. The Confederates fought on their own territory, so they knew all of the area. Their soldiers were all trained very well, better hunting skill and they attended military school. They also believed in the cause because it was for them, and their independence.
