Venus Williams was born on June seventeenth, 1980 making her the older sister in the dynamic tennis duo. Her younger sister, Serena, was born on September twenty-sixth, 1981. Both girls were enrolled at Rick Macci’s Tennis Academy at a young age, therefore, they became professional very early. Venus began playing at the professional level at the age of fourteen, and Serena soon followed, playing professional tennis at the age of fifteen. Off the court, both sisters have other interests. Aneres, which is Serena’s clothing line, sells mainly tennis and athletic apparel. Serena is known as a baseline player, or someone who stays very far back in the court, and she is always in control of her intense games. Her powerful serves can fly across the court at speeds of up to 128 miles per hour. Though she differs in delivery speed, Venus is a baseline player as well but contrasting to her sister, she holds the record for the fastest serve ever delivered by a woman, at a shocking 130 miles per hour (Advarsity Sports). The expert player is comfortable all around the court, unlike her sibling who is mainly comfortable on the baseline.
