In the story, Miss Emily bought the poison from the pharmacist and did not tell the reason why she need the poison to the pharmacist (Faulkner). Then, the author writes, “…Miss Emily had been to the jeweler’s and ordered a man’s toilet set in silver, with the letters H. B. on each piece…she had bought a complete outfit of men’s clothing” (Faulkner). Then, shortly after she bought the man’s grooming kit and men’s shirt, the town has never seen Homer Barron ever again (Faulkner). After Miss Emily has died, the town found out Miss Emily’s secret that she has kept the corpse of Homer Barron in the second floor of her house (Faulkner).
