Napoleon was the ruler. He had the most power and was well respected. He was a strict, manipulative ruler who made sure that no one got in his way. He believed in brutal punishment and brainwashed the other animals into making them believe that everything he did was for the animals benefit when really, it only benefitted and pleased the pigs.
Squealer was Napoleon’s right-hand pig. He always supported him and accepted what he said a fact. He was very persuasive and intellectually gifted, like Snowball. His cute looks and swaying motions always grabbed and hypnotised the animals, however, looks can be deceiving.
Snowball was the original leader of the Rebellion after Old major died. He was well-liked, intelligent pig. He was a great public speaker and cared for the better of the animals, not just the pigs. Muriel was a white goat that lived amongst the farm animals. She was one of the intelligent animals as she was able to read. She was a friend to Clover and helped her read the commandments on the barn wall. She passed away after many years of labor on Animal farm.
Old major was the oldest and wisest animal on the farm. He inspired the rebellion amongst the animals after having a dream that the animals would be free from the humans. He died before the rebellion occurs but his strong words kept the animals going throughout the struggles of rebelling against Farmer Jones and
