In people’s mind, African American slaves were squalid. As a result, they treat them surlily and opprobriously. Uncle Tom's Cabin implied the Civil War in America and contributed to the outbreak of war. The author of this book was an abolitionist. Under her writing style, her book inspired people personalizing the political and economic arguments about slavery. Uncle Tom's Cabin helped many nineteen century Americans determine what kind of living condition they wanted. Therefore, this book had the same position in public’s mind as Bible in the 19th century.
