Some of the problems with physical therapy are, that it is boring and painful. Games can also be used away from a facility, and don't usually require a lot of specialised equipment. In addition, games are fun and easy to use, even small children would be willing to, or even want to do therapy. Gaming devices like the Wii, strengthen weak muscles, thus reducing the cost of therapy which is currently very expensive. For the test the hero could fight a boss or fight a major battle. If the student wanted to review a lesson they could go back and review a level. If the student wanted help, it would be easy to contact the teacher or get help from other students. Students that are more advanced can easily jump ahead in subjects while the students that need help can easily get it. Other ways students could interact is by challenging each other in various subjects. This probably increases productivity many times over as the students would study to challenge each other and become the best in that subject. As the students fight more and more they gradually get smarter and smarter until they all display a mastery in that subject.
