Driven by desires to become better and accomplish more than those before us, society will always present the possibility to match or surpass our ancestors’ achievements. However, Leonardo da Vinci achievements cannot be matched or surpassed by anyone in today’s society. Leonardo was a polymath and achievements in today’s era require specialization in every professional arena. A doctor in today society is not simple a doctor for all that ail you, there are Anesthesiologist, Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon among many others. The same can be said for Lawyers, Mechanics, Business Professional, and many other professions. Advancement in science and technology forces today’s society to specialize or master one profession. Our modern economy concept provides a comparative advantage. Specialization allowed each professional to focus on their craft rather than learning another profession. For example, A Neurosurgeon time is not best utilized plowing the dirt to grow crops for food, changing the oil in his vehicle, or teaching Humanities, but rather curing diseases affecting the nervous system and brain stem. Another benefit of specialization is the process of repetitive learning. The more time a professional take to practice their vocation, the more productive the professional would become in that particular function and generally the quality of output will increase as well. Equally important is the time saved from moving between professions and the cost saving of not buying a specialized tool for every
