Wilfred Owen: Opposing the war It is an unimaginable hardship to endure a terrible war such as Wilfred Owen did in World War I. In his poem, Dulce et Decorum Est, Owen describes his journey and thoughts about it. Through various forms of rhetorical devices such as point of view, imagery, and similes, Owen protests against the war and against those that believe that it is an “honor” to fight for one’s country.
