A man by the name of William Herschel discovered Uranus on March 13, 1781. He had observed the space and stars, until one night he found an addition to the family of planets that orbited the sun. According to my research, I couldn't find a specific motivation to study space other than the curiosity he had for what laid beyond our world. It was then, on March 13, that he noticed a dark space moving across the sky. He first thought it was a comet, but after further discovery found that it orbited the sun. I believe this discovery is very significant in that it was an addition to the known family of planets that orbited the sun. It was also motivation to other astronomers in their space research.
Herschel's research has
