“Women in the United States haven't always had the right to an abortion. Before 1973, individual states were allowed to decide whether abortion would be legal within their borders. ... In a landmark decision, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that the right to an abortion was part of a woman's right to privacy”(Roe V Wade). “American women will have had an abortion by the time she reaches age 45. It was like 35% of the abortions was provided in the hospitals and 19% were at the abortion clinic “(clinics where more than half of patient visits were for abortions)” (State Facts). “ In 2011, 89% of U.S. counties had no abortion clinic. 38% of American women lived in these countries, which meant they would have to travel outside their county to obtain an abortion.
