Why do you think the title of the movie is You’re Not You? Because before the ALS, she was a happy pianist with many close friends, and when she got sick, she lost a lot of her identity. Even her friends treated her differently.
What was your initial opinion of Bec when we first were introduced to her? I thought that she seemed very unprepared for the job and I didn’t think she would be able to keep it.

What is your opinion of Kate’s friends? We see them several times throughout the movie. Towards the beginning, they come over for dinner that Bec prepares. We then see them again at the birthday party and later at lunch with Bec (Kate wasn’t at the lunch this time). Discuss both friends - there is the blonde one with the older child who had a birthday party and then the brunette one with the baby. They didn’t seem to care about Kate very much. They didn’t want to go out of their way to make accommodations for her. The blonde one at least tried to act like she cared, but the brunette didn’t seem to care at all.
When Kate and Bec meet up with the couple who has the wife with ALS, we see a different side of Kate. Often times individuals with disabilities or special needs are involved in a group therapy environment at some point. Why do you think group therapy is recommended for these
