Two Models (Perspectives) That Explain the Relationship of Personality to Career and Life Outcomes
1. Trait Perspective: Personality traits are stable and are shaped by genetics/biology (Nature). The environment has limited influence on traits, instead, adaptations to environment is predictable. This is similar across cultures.
2. Plasticity Model: Traits are not formed exclusively by genetics or environment. The interaction between persons and their environment determine trait stability and change. People seek to find their niche--environments that match their personality. This creates trait stability.

The place where a person's abilities, interests, values, personality come together to create a satisfying career.

These level of the Big 5 traits a person has correlates to the degree and success of career exploration and planning by adolescents and young adults. These traits also correlate to confidence in their ability to make good career choices and to find satisfying careers.
It is important to provide early interventions for better career outcomes.
