2 halves are functionally different

-Split brains to stop seizures
-able to see extent to which hemispheres specialise
-can describe image in RVF but not LVF
-could select object relating to word from LVF as they could understand it even if they couldnt verbally label it
-say ring but write key

-poor pop val
-methodology good- standardised procedures-image shown for 1 10th of second so doesnt go to other visual field
-poor eco val
-cant generalise small sample brain might act differently because its split- function may change after being split
-produced lots of findings
