How is the vertex form used in transforming a parent quadratic function?
By looking at the vertex form it can determine shift right or left, up or down, stretch or shrink and reflections of any.
Ex: put a equation and list them
When looking at a graph of a quadratic function, what are the key features of the graph and how can they be found?
The key features are vertex, min/max, axis of symmetry, domain, range and intercepts. We find the key features by changing a quadratic into vertex form and solving for zero for x intercepts.
Ex:reference a problem
How are quadratic functions in vertex forms used in real life?
They are used to find min or max amount and other characteristics that are modeled by a parabolic curve.
