A former marshall from Dodge City, decided to set out and go on a journey to invest and make money in a small town of Tombstone. Taken over by the first group of organized crime group called the Cowboys. In this town several laws are broken and several lives are lost due to these law abiding Cowboys. Although these movies take place in the same location, the stories they tell are very different. Some of the differences are the actors and how they portray Wyatt Earp, the similarities between the the two movies ‘Tombstone’ and ‘Wyatt Earp’, and the different way the movie overall tells the story of Wyatt Earp,. Between both movies I think that the main actors portrayed Wyatt Earp differently. In ‘Tombstone’ Kurt Russell did a much better job at capturing the macho gunslinging hero than Kevin Costner. Kurt had a more genuine hollywood western look and feel. His looks were more rugged and beat down, which makes him have more character. It makes him give a feeling being broken down and gives more of an understanding as to why he is wearied. This feeling even goes down to Kurt Russell’s voice, his accent and tone was genuinely more selling than Kevin Costner. Kevin's character even though gave a backstory to how the infamous Wyatt Earp was born, gave a very mediocre presentation. The feeling I got from him was not very good. Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp was born in 1848 in Monmouth, Illinois. He was one of 5 sons to Nicholas and Virginia Earp. I also enjoyed the Oriental scenes,Doc Holliday's personality/Val Kilmer's portrayal of him, the O.K Corral shooting , and chase of the cowboys after his brother died. Some things I disliked about this movie were some of Kurt Russell’s over acting in some scenes like when he was telling Ike Clanton to tell the cowboys he was coming and hell's coming with him.
