I have been able to learn new words and clarify the definition and understanding of words that I have learned in the previous years. Not only has RAMP help me with my reading levels and grammar understanding, but also in my speech. Gaining knowledge on vocabulary has helped me speak more comfortably and understanding the meaning of sentence by just listening to them. As a student who migrated from Mexico and only spoke Spanish in my house, it has always been difficult to understand the translation between English and Spanish. Due to this I was placed in a three stretch remedial English program at the University of Cal Poly Pomona. This affects my career goals because without passing remedial English I will not be able to complete courses that will allow me to continue on my path to achieve my goal as a Civil Engineer in the Environmental option. RAMP tutoring has changed that with large improvements in my English class I have seen changes in my writing. I have boosted my writing abilities and raised my grade in my English class to an above average grade.
