particular organ system that I consider to demonstrate the most significant age-related changes in the human body would be the Sensory System. The sensory system is composed of the five senses: vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch, which all declines with age. However, the age that the changes occur and the rate of the sensory organ 's decline varies among people (Aldwin & Gilmer, 2013, Chapter 7). With age, these senses become less sharp, thus making it harder to notice details of the external environment. These changes can alter one 's lifestyle causing problems in proficient communication, inability to enjoy day-to-day activities, and also it can affect the way one is engaged with other people. There are age-related changes…

Role of the Brain, Nervous System, & Sensory Systems In humans, the nervous system is the area in which the body processes and sends messages. It is a complicated system that gathers sensory information from the entire body, replies to changes in the body, evaluates request information, begins and implements all bodily activity, and preserves “homeostasis” in the body. An organism nervous system is separated into two systems: the “central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system…

All senses are supposed to involve in the sensory adaptation. We get used to things. This goes for lots of things in life including smells, sights, sounds, people, games, and conditions. In conclusion this investigation did prove its hypothesis that If 0-20 year olds, 20-40 years old, 40-60 years old and 60+ year old are all tested then the youngest age group of 0-20s year old will have the higher timed results than the eldest age group 60+ year olds because age affects balance related senses such as vestibular system. The vestibular cells die with age and the cerebellum cells can also be affected by age and drugs for arthritic pain. The results showed that the highest average…

muscle temperatures of the shark are as much as 10 oC warmer than the water that it swims in. This confirms that a system of large retia mirabilia in the circulatory system function as heat exchangers. (2) The shark does not thermoregulate and muscle temperature changes slowly as water temperature changes. Because of these heat changes the shark can maintain itself for more than a month on a single large meal. Speed of locomotion plays an important role in an animal’s biology and ecology and…
