    As a child who sucked her thumb till the age of 14. This topic hits close to home for me. Personal I dont feel that there is anything wrong with it. But to the world there is a problem with it. Thumb sucking is a behavior found in humans, chimpanzees, captive Ring-tailed Lemurs and other primates. It usually involves placing the thumb into the mouth and rhythmically repeating sucking contact for a prolonged duration. Thumb sucking is a natural part of being a child. Pictures have been taken in the womb of children sucking their thumbs. From a early age we explore the world with our mouths and use our mouths as a sootheing method. So as a teacher you went face a child that always has their thumb in their mouth you will need to have a few ideas how to deal with it .
