Description: Encryption - The process of transforming information using a software program generally referred to as an algorithm to make the information readable. A typical example would be to encrypt a file attachment you sent via e-mail. As an added security, a password may be assigned to the file so that only theusers who enter the correct password can open, print, or edit the file.
