Description: Structures of 45 common monosaccharides. The system works like this: the standard Fischer projection of a monosaccharide is drawn with the hydroxyls on the chiral carbons on the left or right. From the carbonyl to the other end, if a hydroxyl is on the left, it is denoted "0", and if it is on the right, it is denoted "1". For ketoses, a "C" is inserted before any digits. For example, L-fructose is C100 and D-glucose is 1011. Identification goes both ways. Have fun!
