Southern Hemisphere- The half of the Earth that lies south of the Equator 13. Eastern Hemisphere- The hemisphere that includes Eurasia and Africa and Australia 14. Western Hemisphere- The half of the Earth comprising North and South America and surrounding waters 15. Compass Rose- A map tool that indicates direction 16. Scale- The size of a picture, plan, or model of a thing compared to the size of the thing itself 17. Physical Map- Map that shows the location of natural features, such as mountains and rivers 18. Topography- Shape of the earth's physical features 19. Relief Map- a map having contour lines through points of equal elevation 20. Political Map- A map that shows the boundaries and locations of political units such as countries, states, counties, cities, and towns 21.
