            <description>MesoAmerica: the mayan people of central america.  the first peoples of ancient america didn't have a system of writing. they traded goods with each other across great distances.

Yucatan: in the mist of jungle-like forests, sweeping south and west through parts of modern-day southern mexico and into Guatemala, the mayan people also created impressive ceremonial centers. 

Cahokia: an enormous site 4 miles east of the mississippii river. trading centers with about 20000 peopole. it was the largest city in north america. it had a massive pyramid. the mississippian people grew corn. the pop. dropped around 1300. by 1500, the city was in ruins. 

L'Anse aux Meadows: founded by the Norse in Northern Newfoundland, found remains dated back to c.e. 1000. viking explorations. 

Reconquista: christians spent 100's of years trying to rid the land of muslims who had arrived there in 711.</description>
