(sexual?) romantic relationships often start out as infatuation & become romantic as intimacy develops over time. without any development, infatuation can disappear. (friends with benefits never stays that way.) empty love - commitment w|o intimacy or passion. a strong love may deteriorate into empty love. (lola & lolo?) arranged marriage can go from empty love & develop into another form. romantic love - bonds individuals both intimately & passionately--but nobody wants to commit. you like them & want them, but don't want to commit. -_- companionate love - intimate, non-passionate love that is stronger than friendship because of the element of long-term commitment. this type is found in marriage which the passion has gone out of but, there is still deep affection & commitment. (older couples? lol, no sex.) love shared between family members would be a good example. fatuous love - example? ELOPING! commitment is motivated by the passion! (heat of the moment) consummate love - the complete form of love.
