<title>GRE Literature in English Subject Test: Greek and Roman Mythology</title>
            <link>http://www.flashcardexchange.com/flashcards/view/905027</link>
<description>You should be familiar with all of the major Greek and Roman gods, a few of the minor ones, and some of the heroes and monsters, for the subject test.

Let's say you get an excerpt of a poem. The first question is &quot;who wrote this?&quot; You don't know. The second question is &quot;when was this written?&quot; You don't know. But the last question is &quot;who's Cerebus?&quot; (because Cerebus happened to be mentioned in the poem) and you happen to know it's the three-headed dog of Greek and Roman mythology. Then you get a point, even though you didn't know anything about the poem!

There are enough questions about Zeus and the rest of the gang on the test to make it worth your while to review them. Don't think of this as a complete list of the characters you should be familiar with. Use these flashcards, but also do a little more research of your own.

You don't need to spend TOO much time on this, though. It's far more important to be familiar with as many authors as possible, as well as what they wrote, when they wrote, and what their styles are like. (I have some flashcards to help you with that. Look for my &quot;GRE Literature in English Subject Test&quot; card sets for &quot;Authors,&quot; &quot;Texts,&quot; and &quot;Excerpts.&quot;)</description>
