Here is the Initial Fitness Assessment (IFA) requirements; if you can sucessfully complete this IFA, than you are considered within good enough physical shape to enter recruit training.

NOTE: the IFA is not equivalent to the Navy's Physical Readiness Test (PFT). 

for males:
34 Push-Ups (or more) in 2 minutes
43 Sit-Ups (or more) in 2 minutes
1.5 Miles (Running) in 14 minutes (or less)

for females:
13 push-ups in 2 minutes
43 sit-ups in 2 minutes
1.5 mile run in 16:30 minutes

(Members in the Challange or Aircrew Programs are subject to increased requirements.)</description>
