Most of my cards are developed for use on a Treo 650, but I try to make them friendly to other intended uses.

Besides my eclectic readings in English, which cover a wide variety of topics (philosophy, history, metaphysics, religion, technology, and science), I am a Hindi autodidact, and use Devanagari script. I am also interested in bambaiyya hindi, marathi, tamil and urdu. I am interested in both shudh hindi and modern urban slang.

I am a 1982-1983 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison College Year in India program, at Varanasi.

India vocabulary - mish mash

This is probably not a good intro flashcard set. Contains terminology from the books "Maximum Bombay" and "City of Djiins", so it covers a long historical range. Even a collection of Hindi/bambaiyya curses. Some usage is contemporary slang, others obsolete historical, so quite a mish-mash. I use Devanagari whenever possible. Work in Progress.

More obscure, mostly English, words that I encounter in my readings. When I encounter a word and either don't understand it, or perhaps find I don't use it often in my own work, or just think it's cool, it goes in one of these flashcard sets.

Some of these words come from Kwame's Cosmopolitanism.

Work in progress . . . missing definitions so reader beware.
