This is because Juliet for the first time disagrees with her father and this makes him furious and aggravated. At first when Capulet enters the room he is calm and gentle. As soon as he hears lady Capulet’s reply he becomes confused and his anger slowly increases. “Does she not give us thanks?” from this we can tell that he is confused and does not know of the details. People ask questions to find out answers and in this case Capulet wants to find out why she is disobeying him. He might have also asked this as a rhetorical question. I think this has been asked in this certain manner because rhetorical questions are usually asked when one does not want to hear a reply. This was a very effective technique because no one replied to Capulet until after he was finished. This shows even when Juliet disagrees with her father she still has the decency and respect for him to be quiet when he is speaking. From this we can infer that Juliet might have feared her father very much and that is why she is being quiet whilst he speaks. This gives the impression that Juliet is a very brave girl. This is because even though she feared her father very much she still stood up to him. As this makes her look very brave it also shows how important and strong her love was for Romeo. When Juliet dies there’s dramatic irony because we know she hasn’t really died but her family don’t know that. Capulet feels as if his world is frozen. “Ultimate frost” Capulet could be making reference to Juliet’s cold body. He could also be saying his worlds gone cold because his daughter is dead. Even though his daughter is dead Capulet still thinks about his finances. “Death is my heir” from this we can tell that Capulet thinks his death has taken his only worthy possession, what he value the most. The world “Death” creates a dark and gloomy atmosphere which adds to the on-going sad feeling present
