While many yearn for this change there are those who detest the very concept. These people believe that their identity and culture comes under threat if globalization is involved. This debate occupies the minds of many as the research the change that globalization brings to the continent of Africa and other nations. What we do know for sure is that globalization is brought about by the political views and economic standpoint of a nation, which many can argue is because of the western world’s involvement in affairs they don’t belong in. However the question remains is globalization and advantage or disadvantage to the nation it affects? It spreads like the plague and gives its symptoms wherever it touches; some good some bad. But like a disease it has a beginning of how it spreads, it needs a host. The host is often played by a third world nation that often or not has resources found valuable by the more industrial and powerful nations of the world. Defined as capitalism people often view this as the disease itself by people who study its results but argued by economists.
