One particular social movement that is a good example of the benefits of such movements is the Chicano movement that occurred from the 1950s to the 1980s. The issue in itself began with farmers demanding for more rights and better working, as well as life conditions. The United Farm Workers Organizing Association was created and led by Cesar Chavez.
