The problem that resulted in the unfinished dome allowed the Medici to consider what the classical powers had achieved. As the Medici looked to find someone who could tackle this enormous task, a man by the name of Fillipo Brunelleschi caught the eye of Cosimo. Brunelleschi’s architecture was considered unorthodox and was not considered to be popular among most people. With the Medici’s backing of both Brunelleschi and Pope John the 23rd, the Medici could challenge the accepted beliefs of many families and their forms of classic work. Many residents of Florence were in awe of the style used to construct many of Brunelleschi’s works due to the fact of the unused style. To ensure that the Medici can ensure security within their power they desperately needed new allies. These forms of new allies came from Lorenzo’s new wife Clarice Orsini. She brought forms of power to the family by having ties to a Roman Baron and a Cardinal in the church. Lorenzo was able to continue his father’s patronage on the fine arts by hiring a young artist who goes by the name of Sandri Botticelli. His creation of the Adoration of the Magi placed both Lorenzo and his family into the heart of the scene, as well as a self-portrait. Lorenzo was able to uphold a house that many writers and painters could to take place in his own bounty. He tries to capture the attitude many of the people held in the city of Florence. With the backup of Lorenzo, Botticelli was able to focus on many religious depictions of art. This helped to contribute to the ever-growing Renaissance by helping break away from once again the classical form of art and allowed for a free spirit artwork. One form of artwork that depicted this “fantasy” display of art was his creation of La Primavera, which was driven by both imaginative ideas and
