Mayas
The Maya Empire, centered in the tropical lowlands of what is now Guatemala, reached the peak of its power and influence around the sixth century A.D. The Maya excelled at agriculture, pottery, hieroglyph writing, calendar-making and mathematics, and left behind an astonishing amount of impressive architecture and symbolic artwork. Most of the great stone cities of the Maya were abandoned by A.D. 900, however, and since the 19th century scholars have debated what might have caused this dramatic decline.
The Maya civilization was one of the most dominant indigenous societies of Mesoamerica (a term used to describe Mexico and Central …show more content…
The city of Palenque served as an important center for the Mayan peoples. Their King, Hanab Pakal, was buried in a tomb in a pyramid and is believed to be an ancient astronaut. What leads the astro-theorists to believe Pakal was in fact an ancient astronaut was actually his sarcophagus lid. The lid has intricate carvings along the top and sides. On the top of the lid shows a picture of what is presumed and accepted to be Pakal. Now what Pakal is doing leads to debate. Historians and most people agree the events happening on the lid is Pakal descending into Xibalba or ascending to the sky god Itzamnaaj. The astro-theorists believe however, that the lid depicts Pakal sitting at the controls and flying some sort of spacecraft into space. According to the theory, he is shown to be sitting at an angle like modern astronauts do before liftoff, is manipulating controls, has either some type of breathing device or telescope in front of his face, his feet on some type of a pedal, and even what looks like an exhaust and …show more content…
Thinking of the progress we have made now compared to then, those ancient people would look at us as gods too, which leads me to believe these “ancient aliens” are time travelers. There are many theories to how time travel could be possible, and just because we have yet to achieve time travel does not mean future generations have not been able to achieve time travel. Looking at the term alien, we use it to describe foreigners such as the phrase “Illegal Aliens”, so these ancient aliens could very well just be future people, and without access to the knowledge we have of the world, combined with the mysticism of that time, it is not hard to believe that people from the future, in my mind I would believe to be historians and archaeologists, traveled back in time to study the people first hand. However, some may have warped history which could explain the random disappearances of civilizations and loss of new technology of the time. Time travel is not completely an impossible theory, and because time changes are supposedly only aware to the traveler, we would never even know history has changed. In fact, theoretical physicist and string theorist Brian Greene, of Columbia University says time travel is real, and has already happened, however is only possible to travel a short amount of time to the future. Knowing this, future scientists could easily launch
