Lumbers job description consists of harvesting thousands acres of trees for a later profit. Typically lumber industries gain their profits from other manufacturers that makes products from trees. Everyday products are made from trees including paper, sponges, rubber, etc. (Discover More). There is a high demand for lumber throughout the world, and provides a high amount of jobs. According to the Bureau Labor of Statistics over 900,000 jobs are provided in the United States. With more jobs provided to American Citizens, less people would be dependent on Welfare or other government funding. This would help boost the economy, with less taxation and dependency on the government. As well in the GDP or the gross domestic product, lumber industries accounts for over 4% of the total U.S. manufacturing, and sells over 200 billion in products (Economic Impact).
