The Army instills in us mental and physical discipline. The culture goal of the Army is to fight for freedom. From the Soldiers creed to the Army Values some part of the Army culture remains with the Soldier for life. The culture of the army allows us to build everlasting relationships. We share the identity and culture of sacrifice and service (p4). As NCO’s we must enforce the Army’s culture as well as demonstrate it to our soldiers.
As HR Sergeant we have the most critical role in the army in my opinion. Our job helps ensure the well-being as well as the need of a Soldier are met. We are, at arms either with a pen or a weapon. Although our job may be seen as behind a desk, we are a vital asset to the Army in order for the Army to function. Our soldiers look up to us to provide the resources they need. As HR Sergeants we must take pride in what we do as well as enjoy what we do. We must incorporate the Army’s values into the support and assistance we provide to our Soldiers.
In conclusion the Human Resource Sergeant plays a major role in the army by providing support in many ways, whether it is through pen or through arms. We are a profession of Arms. We play a vital part in mission success in actually fighting or supporting our fellow
