Children are beginning to express feelings before they even really understand what they are. The see that if the cry they get attention and if they laugh they get attention. This is where children begin to learn about attachment and when they see certain ways that they can get attention and get the parent to understand them and they begin to understand the parent. When children begin to build that bond with a parent it will keep building and building and this is when self-regulation becomes in to play. As children begin to grow they will begin learning right from wrong and how to gain independence. Children will learn to mange their anger and solve everyday problems. If a child is denied the attachment to help with socio-emotional development they will have issues later in life with anger and relationship problems. It will be hard for them to maintain a positive lifestyle and create relationships with people around them. The child will begin to act out. They could have the issues of peer problems, bad social skills, not understanding emotions, aggressive and antisocial behavior, and lower expectations on grades. There are a lot of long term affects that can happen to a child who hasn’t had the correct attachment with their parents. Not having a child with good socio-emotional development can be an issue when starting school. The child could not be independent enough to feel like
