Instructor Pilots (IPs) develop flight-training plans to progress, train, and evaluate aviators assigned to the Commander’s ATP. The current need for training managers to meet the strenuous needs of present-day Army cost requirements, allows Instructor Pilots to aid in supporting the command team through direct guidance and intimate relationships with the current operational Aviator. The need to meet mission specific roles allows IPs to develop flight hour programs based off specific requirements of the commander to maintain consistent training in a complex training environment and a rapidly changing combat setting. Warrant Officer’s role as Aviation maintainers requires a vast knowledge of aircraft systems and operations. Company level maintenance officers continually meet the commander’s request for aviation assets through efficient maintenance practices. The need to educate and mentor Aviation maintenance crewmembers rely heavily on a method to manage and educate while meeting the needs of the operational status. Aircraft systems while complex are continually updating and need tracked specialist to maintain and train on the use of these complex systems. Working with Commanders and staff, Maintenance Test Pilots use varying methods through classroom education to hands on performance based training to ensure soldiers are equipped with the knowledge needed to maintain aviation assets.
