Should people be allowed to rate a book because they feel it is not appropriate for a certain age group? Whether it goes against your religion , view of violence, drugs and deaths, the book has the right to be sold and read by the people around the world. The book should save a section of the book that warn the reader of which ages that will be able to handle it. But nobody should be able to censor a book because it takes away freedom of speech.
Religion is one of the top reasons why books are banned in the world. When it comes to religion, people often focus on a single chapter , a paragraph or a word before knowing the books content, basing their facts on opinions or personal beliefs. For example, a church in New Mexico burned all the Harry Potter books because they believed the books were satanic and went against their beliefs. They didn't allow their kids to experience the true beauty of reading these wondrous books. Banning a book goes against our freedom of speech law stating that everyone has the right to say whatever they want.When someone banns a book, they are taking away the author’s rights. Some people might find the book unappealing because of the types of graphic descriptions which might not be appropriate for some children. People believe that when a book is too violent, people or children might reenact some of the violent events and commit a horrible tragic crime.
