Going on the assumption they can join that union, considering the employer received feedback from employees that they didn’t want to join it, I would proceed with an election via secret ballot. We know there are employees that want to join the union and only a few have advised me that they do not want to join. We don’t know if the majority want the union, but due to fact I’m receiving more about numbers that want to join versus those who don’t want to join it would be best with just moving forward versus delaying which can then result in more distractions within the plant. We already have our production employees as part of a union and those interactions and negotiations have not been negative as of today’s date. Conducting a survey could also result in inaccurate results as some employees may respond with the answer they think we want to hear for fear of retribution.
