The term ‘beauty’ may have very virtual meaningful. Something can be beautiful in our eyes, but ugly for other people. The external beauty of a person is often the first thing that we pay attention to. We live in a universe where the media takes over the world. People always want more than what they already have, which create a temptation into the human desire. The media is providing the happiness human being are searching for which can only achieve and see externally. Therefore, women are affected, physically and mentally, as they try to meet the society expectations of what women should look like.

People tend to only see the fallacious life they have, and the admirable sides of another people’s life. Carla and Bethany are the main characters of the play; they are basically the opposite of one another. Carla is beautiful, but an unsuccessful model and Bethany is a talented writer and accountant but lack of beauty. Martin shows Bethany as the villainous character. She is admittedly jealous, single-minded in her motivation for thing that can only see externally.
