The article states: Those who were more stressed about their debt had worsening levels of stress, anxiety and depression” (University of Southampton). I can relate to this article because I have just under 15,000 dollars of student loan debt and each year when I have to take out more loans, I become more stressed because I see the total increase, which than just adds to my high level of anxiety I already have. I work part time at Beaumont in Taylor as a nursing aide as I go to school. I work the midnight shift and that contributes to my stress levels as well. In an article from Daily Science, research has concluded that “students may be experiencing a new level of independence and can struggle to find the balance between juggling classes, finances, social lives, athletics, volunteer work, parental expectations and employment” (cite article). From a personal perspective, I find it hard to find a balance between these aspects of life. Even though I can become overwhelmed and feel like I cannot balance work, school, extracurricular activities and a social life, I learned how to become flexible and how to time manage. I have learned to prioritize and time manage. I would not have above average skills that are commonly looked for by potential employers if it was not for my chaotic schedule. I do not want my work life to consume my life where my children are on the back burner. A study down by North Carolina University found that “the study looked at the health of school-age children who have at least one younger sibling. When a mother works, the study found, it leads to a 200 percent increase in the child 's risk of having each of three different adverse health events: overnight hospitalizations, asthma episodes, and injuries or poisonings” (North Carolina University). I worry that I will not be a good enough mom; however, since I have a busy college schedule with the addition of working and extracurricular activities, I already know how to prioritize and time manage.
